The City Series is a collection of wood sculptures that represent a woodworker's journey from the suburbs to the city. Each piece depicts the outsider's perspective of the urban landscape. Made entirely of scrap wood, this work is an interpretation of making something out of nothing. Each piece is cut intuitively on a band saw. The result is a collection of architectural forms, each distinctly different from the next.
This series combines high resolution digital imagery with state of the art laser engraving technology. The digital images are often macro views of textured surfaces, such as weathered paint on a barn door, or woven pattern of a wicker basket, or even a custom design. The laser engraver reinterprets these images and transforms the surfaces of wooden forms into highly detailed, beautifully unique objects.
The Classics are our contemporary response to traditional furniture archetypes. These pieces are defined by clean lines, natural colors, and high quality craftsmanship. A modern take on everything we love about yesterday's furniture.
